Latest info on camping at Tsodilo Hills (Botswana)...

Post by come-along.nl » Tue Jul 09, 2013 8:57 am

We visited Tsodilo Hills last week and the following Public Notice was given to us:
"The Department of National Museum and Monuments informs the public that on 31st May 2013 the Campsite in the core area (area around museum and site offices) will cease to operate. Camping facilities will therefore be available at the Tsodilo Community Campsite (adjacent to site gatehouse) from 1st June 2013.
Camping fees: Adults: P130 non-resident, P110 resident and P90 citizen
Children 2-15 years: P70 non-resident, P50 resident and P30 citizen

The public is further advised that with effect from 1st June 2013 Entry and Guiding Fees at Tsodilo World Heritage Site will also come into effect as follows:
Adults: P50 p/p/p/d non-resident, P25 p/p/p/d resident and P10 p/p/p/d
Children 2-15 years: P10 p/p/p/d non-resident, P5 p/p/p/d resident and P2-50 p/p/p/d citizen

Guiding fees: P120 - P175 per trail"
We were very disappointed by the fact that we were not allowed to camp at the foot of the Hill. You have to drive from the Community campsite to the Hill (Museum) - the distance between the campsite and Hill makes it difficult to take photos randomly.

Amblution facilities at the Community Campsite are new but very basic
