"I’m not very good at writing trip report reports, so here is a short one. This year we decided to spend our annual trip only in Botswana. We really like this country with its open spaces and friendly people. We wanted to visit places we haven’t been before and some that we can’t seem to get enough of. We travelled alone, as per usual.

First part of the trip was the long drive via Katula Lodge (outside Upington), Springbok Pan, Ghanzi and onto Maun. We stayed two days at Maun Rest Camp (definitely recommended) to sort our bookings/payments. The wife’s usual ‘African art shopping spree’ was also on the list. We’ve never been to Nxai pans and booked for 3 nights at South Camp. Deflating tyres when towing a trailer is a must because of the thick sand from the main gate. 15 minutes of preparation always beats hours of digging, pushing and pulling (got the t-shirt)"
