Central Kalahari Game Reserve on January 15:
CKGR (the northern part ) looks nearly like the Namibian farmland was already very green due to the good rains. We saw lots of antelopes and eventually saw our lions we were looking for since we started in Namibia. Also saw a cheetah at Deception Valley. Rescued some tourists who got stuck. At Sunday Pan 04 the lions passed our camp by 15m while we were sitting in our camping chairs - quite scary how silent they moved. The roar came half an hour later. Had a similar experience in Khwai in 2002 when the majesty himself roared next to my tent ...
At Rakops we were fortunate to get unleaded petrol while there was no diesel. The owner told that all will be ok in two months time. In Zambia (our last major trip) we got the magic words which are answering all difficult questions - maybe, maybe not.
