One of the larger territorial male leopards resident on Lion Sands kills a baby elephant. Although the elephant's mother was able to chase the leopard away, by the time she got to her calf it had already stopped breathing. Lion Sands' Ecologist had viewed the baby earlier in the day, and had recorded that he was concerned about its health. Although it is never nice to see a young animal being killed by a predator, it seems that the calf was already very weak and would possibly not have survived much longer...
