Safety issue: Smash and Grab in Audi Camp, Maun...

Post by come-along.nl » Tue May 04, 2010 5:08 pm

There seems to be more and more safetyproblem issues at Audi Camp in Maun?

This morning is an absolute nightmare. We have had very little sleep all night and now it’s 7.30am and the police are back again. I ask them to come back later, but Joakim ‘reminds’ be that they are not our own private detectives and gets up to give them a statement.
I just think it’s a paper exercise since it’s not going to make a difference to us if they catch the gits who robbed us last night or not. I’m sure it’s not good for Maun to have a reputation of theft and muggings since it wholey relies on tourism as a base for the Okavango Delta

It's not only Audi Camp, Maun has been attracting a lot of criminals for many years (unfortunately).

Cheers

Audis's Camp has had theft issues for years. I 1st stayed there in '96, and they had put up a security fence for this very reason. Fast forward and it still is happening, but now the camp has had some violence with weapons (Ngami Times). Management does nothing to warn their clients, or seem to care. If they had any concern for the well being of the people staying with them, at least increase security or train and supervise them better.

From friends in Maun- it might help if people put away their valuables and LOCKED the vehicle.
