Advice for campers at Ihaha and Third Bridge...

Post by come-along.nl » Thu Aug 19, 2010 11:49 am

The monkeys at Ihaha are extremely clever. They know how to unzip tents so my advice is to zip your tents to the top of the tent, not the bottom, and lock the zips as well when going on a game drive. We had our entire medicine box trashed by these monkeys because we did not lock the zips. They polished off all our dispirins, re-hydrate sachets, anti-inflammatories,and immodium tablets - the only thing they left (after tasting them) was our malaria tablets.
The baboons at Third Bridge are still quite a problem and I would strongly advise against booking campsite no. 6 as most nights they sleep in the trees above this site, making lots of noise in the middle of the night and sh...ing on the tents below.
Whatever you do, do not leave any food or medicines in your tents. The campers next to us at Third Bridge had their tent torn open at the seams because they left lemons in the tent.

Okay, that is going to be fun. We have booked campsite 5.
We will see if they are still there at the beginning of October.
We will enjoy it anyway, see this YouTube video
Cheers, Martijn
