Back from a wet wet Botswana. Tried to reach Third Bridge at the 3trd of March, but it was unreachable. With 1st and 2nd bridge out (information at South Gate) took the route over Xakanaxa. But stranded taking the "dry" route for Thiord Bridge from there at GPS 19d 24m 55.51s S, 23d 24m 18.16s E. Impassable water. And the rain was coming down .. and down .. and down. On the return to SOuth Gate the road was already much worse then when we drove up (things go fast during those heavy rains).
Understanding it hasn't been dry since, I guess it isn't reachable still ..

We came from Savuti (we had no problems, puddles only). But just behind Mababe the road was blocked by quite a stretch of water. A detour had been cut and that made it passable. Keep looking there.

Received this update from Mr. Moabi Marambo (www.steenboksafari.com):

"To all travelers, between savuti Magotho/Khwai to Xakanaxa, the airstrip road at Savuti a lot of water, use the other road, Khwai road to North Gate closed, you can take it if you take a risk, to xakanaxa, use South Gate, from Savuti use Mababe, Sankoyo make a turn to south Gate, at Mababe when from turn left drive to a hunting camp then join the road again, from Sankoyo side, turn right to go around the water, it is flooded"

"Did a small road after Bodumatau on Third Bridge game drive road, there is a very bad potion of deep water and logs in there water, make an off road on the left from xakanaxa on sand ridge around that water, from Forth bridge before the water, keep right, nice one and well opened, at xakanaxa take sand ridge or dry rout to third bridge"

Got back from a week at 3rd bridge on the weekend... no rain for almost 2 weeks now so the puddles have dried up nicely and the main roads are not an issue.. however the water levels are up and still rising,...

The dry route (its signposted) from South gate to 3rd Bridge and 3rd bridge to Xakanaxa is fine but the roads around 4th bridge (and some other roads south west of Xakanaka ) are flooded... there are detours which are Ok but some of these had been newly made by game viewers and seem to have no care for driving over mopane bushes... we had to make a few of our own detours on the way back to avoid mopane... a few crossings enroute but not too serious... all bridges are above water but the wet section at 3rd bridge before and after the bridge is about 50-70 cm deep and about 30M long.(see pic).. the left of the crossing is shallower...

The game drives to the East of camp are fine and already quite sandy after a few days of no rain, Mboma was fine and we got almost all the way to Xini Lagoon... We tried one of the loops to get to Xakanaxa (to the SW of Xakanaxa camp) and couldnt get through (well, probably could have if we persevered, but we weren't in the mood for a few hundred metres of muddy knee deep water)...

The scouts at South Gate were very clued up about the roads in the park so worthwhile asking them when you arrive...
