Our latest expedition to Etosha National Park in Namibia held more in-store for us then we ever could have imagined!

We arrived at Namatoni, Etosha’s northeastern camp, mid afternoon on Monday and decided to head out on a game-drive before setting up camp. With storm clouds drawing in quickly we chose not to venture too far and kept close to water sources in order to see as much game as possible. The drive started off well with many antelope, zebra, giraffe and wildebeest enjoying the green vegetation brought by the past couple of months’ rain, and after half an hour we had spotted a herd of elephant. We marveled at the pan, which resembled a lake, something neither of us had seen before having never traveled to Etosha during the rainy-season. The bird-life was also incredible as during the summer months many of the European birds head down here to escape the grueling winter up north...
