It appears that Spreetshoogte Pass is very hard to cross. You definitly need 4WD...

Cheers, Shaka

We drove the first section from the Nauchas turn off into Namibgrens on May 7th. The worst section was between the Nauchas turn off and Namibgrens. We spent the night at Namibgrens camp site and drove out to Wolvedans the next day. The roads were pretty bad but doable if you took your time and checked the worst mud pools before heading into them. The actual pass was clear with no issues. John Rabie from Namibgrens said that they had been pulling people out of the mud at all hours for the few days leading up to them closing the road.
