malaria-free safari

Post by ashgard » Fri Feb 13, 2015 11:24 pm

We planned to go Namibie and Botswanan next month. And we just discovered my wife is pregnant, which we are very happy about. But we don't want to go to malaria areas now. What safari can you advice? We heared that the west part of Ethosa is malaria-free, so that could be an option. Any other parcs that are malaria free?

And about the campsites. Do we have to book them in advance? I heard that we need to have a booking otherwise you are not allowed in the park. But we would like to have a bit of freedom so we rather book the campsites as late as possible. Would be an option? Would it be enough to show a smartphone with the reservation details?

Last summer, I along with my pregnant wife traveled through Botswana.

We have found an alternative to DEET a very good acting drug.
this is Mosi-guard. this is a safe way to use.
just not available in Netherlands.

We have not seen a mosquito but it is at your own risk.
the risk to be inserted in a couple of days by a malaria mosquito is much smaller than the gain of a few million in a lottery.
